British doubles number one Ross Hutchins also plays his first match in the ATP Masters 1000 in Miami today (Saturday).
Wimbledon-based Hutchins and partner, Jordan Kerr of Australia, have a tough opening match against the third seeds Lukas Dlouhy (CZE) and Leander Paes (IND).
Andy Murray begins his defence of the ATP Masters 1000 title in Miami USA this weekend.
The British number one will meet American Mardy Fish in the second round on Saturday.
Murray has a 3-1 head to head record against Fish and they last met at the 2009 AEGON Championships with Murray winning in straight sets in the quarter-finals.
