Ashford motor racing star, Mackenzie Taylor is on track to reach the sport’s pinnacle and is inviting local businesses to join the journey.

After concluding his glittering karting career in 2009, 16-year old Mackenzie Taylor has graduated to the Formula BMW Europe series, with the hugely successful German team Mucke Motorsport.

In the past decade, the Berlin-based outfit has masterminded the early careers of current F1 stars Sebastien Buemi, Robert Kubica and current title-favourite, Sebastian Vettel - and has now signed Mackenzie with the aim of taking him in their footsteps.

Mackenzie says, “It’s a great honour to join a team like Mucke. They’re one of the most respected in world motor sport and their track-record in helping to develop talented, young drivers early in their careers is second to none.”

He adds, “As if being part of the Mucke set-up wasn’t exciting enough, I’m also going to be performing on the Grand Prix stage. Formula BMW is part of the support package to Formula One, so I’m going to be racing in front of enormous crowds, and of course in front of the F1 team bosses. This is a great opportunity for me to shine and you never know – look what happened to Vettel, Buemi and Kubica.”

In this environment, media coverage is also exceptional. The Formula BMW Europe championship enjoys huge attention from TV, press and internet sources - and because it introduces the Formula One champions of tomorrow, is a popular choice for companies looking to engage with new target audiences on a wide scale. Mackenzie says that this is a golden opportunity for local firms to partner his bid to join the F1 grid proper.

“The championship is over eight rounds, seven of which will run alongside the GPs. I’ll be competing in some of the major European countries and at some of the world’s most legendary circuits; Monza (Italy), Spa (Belgium) and for me the jewel in the crown, Silverstone (Britain). Any firm that does business here at home, or in Europe, has a unique chance to be associated with a sport that is glamorous, exciting and enormously popular and can bring their customers to experience life in the fast lane - on the inside!

Many people see motor racing just as a sport, but it’s more than that - it’s an exciting, dynamic and sophisticated marketing tool. I would love local businesses to join me and capitalize on the possibilities that my career has to offer. Investing now could pay massive dividends later - just look at what happened to Lewis Hamilton. The companies that spurned the opportunity to ally themselves with him in 2006 when it was relatively cheap to do so, simply couldn’t afford it a year later. Anybody who joins me now, I promise I will look after them and keep them involved all the way!”

Mackenzie’s management team has created special packages and benefits for local firms, from brand exposure and corporate hospitality to F1 tickets.
