First A Robinson, second A Robinson – both clocking well under 17 minutes.
But that was the way it turned out, with Surrey U20 champion Alex (right) coming home ahead of Thames Hare & Hounds’ over-40 veteran Andy.
Wimbledon Windmilers’ Ruth Clifton was first woman.
There were 40 runners in the Kingston parkrun in which unattached Justin Byrne came home ahead of Stragglers’ over-50 veteran Claus Wagner and Croydon Harriers’ Andy Del Nevo.
Richard Ward, of Belgrave Harriers, was a winner of the new Finsbury Park event, while Reigate Priory’s Andrew Mercer won on Banstead Woods and Striders of Croydon’s Justin Macenhill on Roundshaw Downs.
Parkruns continue to mushroom and there are now 36 taking place each week across the country.
