A record 36,549 runners finished Sunday’s London Marathon out of 37,527 starters.

They included Ranelagh Harriers’ Mike Peace, 60, and Thames Hare & Hounds’ Jeffrey Gordon, 75, who maintained their membership of the ever-presents club by completing the London race for the 30th time.

Peace clocked three hours, 25 minutes, 36 seconds and Gordon 5:06.26. There are now 20 runners left in the group.

Belgrave’s Samantha Amend was 33rd in the women’s race (2:47:01) with clubmate Sarah Murphy 90th (3:03:38).

Serpentine’s Elizabeth Wynn was 87th (3:03:00).

Ranelagh Harriers’ Marie Synnott-Wells was fifth in the over 45 category (3:04:48).

West 4 Harriers’ Isobel Rea was 73rd (2:59.33), helping her club to fourth in the team race, with Tanya Shaw in 140th leading the way for fifth-placed Serpentine.

Clubmate Karen Hancock was third in the women’s over-55 category (3:18:08).

Herne Hill Harriers’ Brian Wilder was 28th in the men’s race in a lifetime best of 2:24:18, seven minutes faster than his previous best.

Thames Hare & Hounds’ John McFarlane was 45th (2:28:38) with clubmate Andy Weir was fourth in the over-40 category (2:29:30), finishing 53rd in the men’s race.

Hercules Wimbledon’s Mike Halman was 58th in a personal best of 2:29:50, taking more than four minutes off his previous best time.

Herne Hill’s Gareth Price was 61st (2:30:02), with Thames Hare & Hounds’ Julian Rendall 64th (2:30:46) and Andrew McNamara 65th (2:30:59).

Hercules Wimbledon’s three times English cross country champion, Dave Clarke, 52, was fifth over-50 finisher (2:45:45) In the UK and England team championships, Thames Hare & Hounds finished third, with West 4 Harriers fourth and Serpentine fifth.
