A large Oval crowd were treated to yet another abject performance a Surrey team, as they were soundly beaten by their North London rivals, writes Mark Caswell.
With the ground about 90% full, Surrey won the toss and batted first but lost wickets on a regular basis Mark Ramprakash run out for 0, and Jason Roy caught behind to ex Reigate colleague Tim Murtagh for a duck.
The home team struggled throughout there innings which included the loss of their two overseas stars Andrew Symonds and Younis Khan in the same over, both caught and bowled by ex Surrey spinner Tom Smith.
A quickfire unbeaten 36 from Gary Wilson enabled the Lions to reach 120.
The Panthers never looked in any trouble in reaching the modest total captain Neil Dexter batting throughout the innings for an unbeaten 62, Matthew Spriegel was the pick of the Surrey bowlers taking 2-24.
