England legend Alec Stewart has given Surrey’s Steve Davies’ international hopes a ringing endorsement after labelling the wicketkeeper good enough to get into the team just as a batsman.
The 24-year-old, a former England U19 captain, is behind Test regular Matt Prior and Twenty20 World Cup winner Craig Kieswetter as gloveman, however, Stewart has called for selectors to look beyond that.
