Jaqueline and Andrew Clements, a mother and son combination from Bramley Golf Club, scored 44 points at the latest Algarve Golf Trophy event held at Leatherhead Golf Club last week.
They now qualify to play in the grand final and can look forward to three nights accommodation, two rounds of golf, welcome party and a prize presentation gala dinner in the stunning setting of the Algarve.
Former Leatherhead players Roger and Christine North scored 40 points to finish second, with Carol and Michael Bilton, of Malden Golf Club, third on 38 points.
More than 100 players took part in the open mixed stableford event from 30 local clubs.
Players arriving for the day were welcomed with a gift from the Algarve Promotion Bureau before heading out onto the course.
After the golf, players made their way back to the clubhouse for the prize presentations followed by a magnificent Portuguese themed buffet.
The winners from the UK and Ireland will be joined in Portugal by winners from the other Algarve Golf Trophy competitions, which are being held in Sweden and Denmark, creating a truly international final.
