Sunbury Golf Centre, in Shepperton, has been awarded GolfMark status for its work in encouraging youngsters and beginners to play the sport.

The award, a national scheme which identifies and recognises junior and beginner-friendly golf facilities, has been given to less than one in six golf clubs in England.

Head PGA coach Neil Gorman said: “We are keen to bring more juniors into the sport, and have fantastic coaching facilities here.

I also have two experienced junior coaches on my team, so we are looking forward to really kick-starting our development of junior and beginner golfers.”
