South London Harriers athlete Matt Chapman romped to victory in Saturday’s Banstead Woods parkrun.
Chapman clocked 16 minutes, 52 seconds to win the race by almost a full minute.
Graham Hewett, of Dorking and Mole Valley AC, was second in 17.34, while Paul O’Callaghan (Tadworth AC) was third, clocking 17.51.
Reigate Priory AC athlete Sally Read-Cayton was the first female finisher (20.17).
Herne Hill Harriers athlete Basil Wallace won Saturday’s Wimbledon Common parkrun.
Wallace came home in 16 minutes, 56 seconds. Knut Hegvold, of Belgrave Harriers, was second, clocking 16.58, while Hercules Wimbledon athlete Darren Meredith was third in 17.10.
Herne Hill also provided the winner at Kingston through Simon Donaghy.
Stragglers’ Julie Garner was first woman.
Fellow Hercules runner Deborah Noel was the first woman in 20.35.
Belgrave’s veteran triathlete Mike Trees headed home another bumper field of almost 800 runners to win the Bushy Park parkrun on Saturday in 16:25.
Stragglers’ Sandra Bandeira took the women’s event.
Belgrave’s Matt Morgan (17:04) was also the winner on Roundshaw Downs, where UKnetrunner Laura Foster took the women’s event.
Belgrave’s Richard Ward won on his debut in Old Deer Park, where unattached runner Rebecca Hall led the women home.
Serpentine’s Eoin O’Connell was the Richmond Park winner with unattached runner Mary Buxton first woman.
