Striders of Croydon’s women finished ninth out of 18 teams at the Surrey Road Relays at Wimbledon Park on Saturday.
Their runners over the 2.9-mile course were Alice Ewen (21 minutes, 12 seconds), Josephine Thompson (20.24), Suzy Yates (20.22) and Steph Upton (19.38).
The men finished 18th out of 28 runs with a withdrawal meaning team manager Chris Morton had to run twice (18.14 and 18.56). Other runners were John Foster (17.57), Paul Stanford (18.08), Taylor Huggins (18.07) and Mick Turner (18.13).
Alan Dolton finished fifth overall and second in the over-50 category at Saturday’s Roundshaw Downs 5km parkrun (21.11).
Other finishers: 23 Andy Elliott (first over-60) 25.24, Natalie Osher 25.50, 31 Margaret Faherty (first over-60 woman) 26.54, 35 John Gannon 27.15; 39 Matthew Smith 27.33; 40 Clive Smith 27.38; 45 Carol Hollingworth 28.15; 61 Karen Connor 30.33. There were 88 finishers.
