Croydon Amphibians Under 15 Water Polo team clinched the Regional League with three stylish performances this weekend.
The team under the guidance of Chris Martin and Cliffe Brooks confirmed their status as one of the most promising youth teams in the South of England.
With many of the squad eligible to play next year they are well place to gain more silverware as well as continuing the youth development programme that strengthens Croydon Amphibians already impressive British League senior team.
This weekend was the fourth and final weekend of the summer water polo tournament and Croydon won all three games .Beating Ealing (7-2), Enfield (5-0) and Worthing (5-2).
Goal scorers were Jack Kavangh (1), Jo Maglicco (1), Tor Wheeler (4), Josh Capon (4) Kevin Girrard (7).
It was however as much about a determined defensive display to take the top spot with playmakers Matthew Helps and Josh Hampson marshalling the defence strongly in front of impressive goal keeping by Ashley Hinds.
Jack Leonard and Anthony Desousa also played their part in helping Croydon secure their position at the top of the table.
As Croydon celebrated with the trophy Coach Cliffe Brooks said ”This team have played well throughout the season and deserve to be top. The potential of the team is fantastic and have a great team ethic working hard for each other.”
