Surrey cross country champion Paskar Owor ran a superb anchor leg to lead Belgrave to victory in the Surrey county senior men’s road relay championship at Wimbledon Park on Saturday.
Going into the last of the six laps, with less than half-a-minute between them, four teams were in contention with Hercules Wimbledon (one hour, 15 minutes, 42 seconds) leading the way, 15 seconds ahead of Herne Hill, with Belgrave (1:16:04) and defending champions Thames Hare & Hounds (1:16:10) also in pursuit.
It was not long before Owor took control and brought the Belgrave team home 41 seconds clear after posting the fastest lap time (13:58).
Chris Busaileh (14:43) brought Herne Hill in first at the end of the opening leg.
James McMullan (14:15), clocking the third fastest time of the day, lifted Thames Hare & Hounds from 11th to second place on the second leg, 49 seconds behind Herne Hill’s Alan Barnes (14:40).

The Thames challenge faded on the fourth lap as Toby Pearson (15:40) dropped to third and Hercules Wimbledon’s Liam White (14:38) posted the fastest lap time in moving through from fourth to second, 24 seconds behind Herne Hill’s Ian Yates (15:46).
