Marek Karas regained the Westside LTC men's singles title with a 6-3 6-4 victory over defending champion Simon Bramwell at the club's finals day, writes Mike Sinclair.
Karas, assistant manager at the Wimbledon-based club, had previously lifted the trophy three years in a row, from 2005 to 2007.
He collected a second title, partnering Richard Mayers to a hard-fought 7-6 3-6 6-4 win over last year's winners Bramwell and James Silvester in the doubles final.
Karas and Mayers had missed out last year after winning the event in 2007 and 2008.
There was consolation for Bramwell, a member of the Hertfordshire team at the recent 0ver-35 County Week at Eastbourne, as he retained his Westside 0ver-35 singles trophy with a 6-2 6-1 win over Graeme Alston.
Ladies singles champion Olivia Fery won the title for the third successive year, overcoming Edita Raca 6-3 6-4 in a repeat of last year's final.
But Fery and husband Loic were beaten in the mixed doubles final, going down 6-2 6-3 to Alex Joy and Austin Coventry.
Alex Joy enjoyed a second success, partnering her sister Caroline to a 6-0 6-1 win over Gayle Yorston and Sarah Krafft in the women's doubles final.
Club manager Mark Steele retained his men's 0ver-55 singles title with a 6-2 6-2 win over Jonathan Roe and Mark Page had a walkover in the 0-45 singles with opponent Gino Fasciani ruled out with flu.
Roe and Tracey Cheffey took the Combined 90 mixed doubles, beating Shakeel Khan and Lis Bingham 6-2 7-5 in the final.
