Golden girl: Ruth Hutton
Hinchley Wood-based Ruth Hutton won a gold medal in the women’s 45-49 age group at the World Triathlon Championships in Budapest.
Hutton, 45, clocked two hours, three minutes, 21 seconds over the Olympic distance to finish more than two minutes clear of her nearest rival.
A member of South Western Road Club, who meet at Hook & Southborough Parish Hall, Hutton clocked 22:48 for the 1,500m swim, 53:59 for the 40km bike ride and 41:26 for the 10km run.
Hutton took gold in the 40-45 age group in Hamburg in 2007.
