Carshalton Lawn Tennis Club held their first mini tennis tournament last week.
They played singles and doubles matches on a newly-built brightly coloured court paid for with funds from the London Marathon Charitable Trust.
Final results: Mini tennis red (eight year olds): Callum Hockley beat Oliver White 10-6 10-4. U12 boys singles: Thomas Beales beat Tommy Highwood 6-2 6-4. U14 boys singles: Alex Suggit beat Ben Whittaker 6-2 6-4. U18 boys’ singles: Ashley Luckyram beat Ndaba Mtunzi 6-2 6-1. Girls’ singles: Laura Coulson beat Adriana Martin 6-3 5-7 (10-4). U18 boys’ doubles: Nicky Page & Josh Smith beat Adam Payle & James Collyer 6-3 6-1. Girls’ doubles: Lara Coulson & Katherine Delima beat Eloise Martin & Adriana Martin 6-1 6-3. Mixed doubles: Becky Fawcett & Ben Fawcett beat Lara Coulson & James Collyer 6-1 6-7. U14 boys’ doubles: Tommy Highwood & Alex Suggit beat Max Haining & Oscar Williamso 6-3 3-6 (10-8). Most improved player of the year: Daniel White, aged nine.
