Surbiton’s Richard Alexander and James Tindall and Wimbledon’s Ben Hawes and Rob Moore have arrived in Delhi as part of Team England’s 2010 Commonwealth Games team.
Alexander, Tindall and Moore are in the 16-strong men’s squad while Hawes is a travelling reserve.
Amidst the media controversy surrounding the games village, the hockey players and management were temporarily moved into five-star hotel accommodation before being among the first English athletes to finally move into the village on Monday.
England’s first group game is against Trinidad & Tobago next Wednesday and they hope to feature in one of the medal finals on Thursday, October 14.
Surbiton men got their Premier Division campaign back on track by winning 2-1 at Bowdon on Saturday.
Kept in the game by a string of fine saves from Chris Bristow, Surbiton came from behind thanks to late goals from Tim Pinnock and Nick Cooper.
Surbiton face Reading this Saturday, but both teams will be depleted with the visitors having five players away in Delhi.
In Conference East, Wimbledon lost 3-2 at home to Bromley & Beckenham despite goals from Tom Kavanagh and Matt Fitter.
They visit Indian Gymkhana on Saturday.
Surbiton women have an early top-of-the-table Conference East clash when they host Chelmsford at Ditton Fields on Sunday (1pm).
Helen Grant and Vicky Bryant were on target in Surbiton’s 2-0 win at Harleston Magpies but they trail Chelmsford on goal difference after the Essex side thrashed Old Loughtonians 5-0.
