WEIR’S FOURSOME: Wallington wheelchair racer David Weir has been named for four events in the Paralympic World Champion-ships in Christchurch, New Zealand, from January 21 to 30. Weir, holder of two Paralympic gold medals, will compete over 400m, 800m and 1,500m and the marathon. The championships are the last major Paralympic event before the 2012 Paralympic Games in London.

FAST FREEMAN: Tadworth veteran Dave Freeman headed a 120-strong field to win Sunday’s Epsom 10km road race on Sunday in 35 minutes, seven seconds Sutton Runners’ Martin Giles (32:42) and Tadworth’s Paul O’Callaghan (35:47) were second and third. Leading women were Worthing’s Naomo Lenane (38:49), Woking’s Kay Trinder (40:49) and unattached runner Aimee Billington (41:07). It was Freeman’s second win of the weekend after taking the Banstead Woods parkrun on Saturday in 18:05.

SCOTT’S SUCCESS: Scott Overall, from Twickenham, beat a 4,000-plus field to win the Windsor half-marathon on Sunday in a season’s best of 1:08:14. He finished 22 seconds ahead of Epsom-based Koyo Kyereme. Wimbledon Windmilers’ James Young was 17th (1:21:42).

YOUNG GUNS: The Bruce Judd cross country relay champion-ships are staged in Stoke Park, Guildford, tomorrow. There are races for U13, U15 and U17 boys and girls with the action starting at 1pm. Herne Hill took the U17 girls’ title last year and will be joined in the event by teams from Hercules Wimbledon, Epsom & Ewell, Sutton & District, Kingston & Polytechnic, Walton AC, Tiffin Boys School and John Fisher School.

BRONZE BADDELEY: Andy Baddeley, who trains at St Mary’s, Twickenham, finished third in the Fifth Avenue Mile in New York on Sunday. The Commonwealth Games-bound runner clocked 3:53.34, considerably slower than his 3:51.8 winning time last year, but still his fastest mile time of 2010. Herne Hill Harriers’ Dave Peters, 39, also clocked a season’s best in finishing seventh in his race (4:19.20).

MARANZANO THIRD: Kingston & Polytechnic’s Mike Maranzano finished third out of almost 200 runners in the East Grinstead 10km road race on Sunday, clocking 38:00

INTERNATIONAL BRIAN: Herne Hill Harriers’ Brian Wilder, making his England international debut, was the third English runner over the line in finishing 27th in the Toronto Waterfront Marathon in 2:27:24. He was more than three minutes slower than his best time of 2:24:18 set in April’s Virgin London Marathon.

STEAD AHEAD: Herne Hill Harriers’ Jonathan Stead beat a 166-strong field to win the Running Free 10km road race in Windsor on Sunday in a personal best of 34:40.
