Striders’ of Croydon’s Richard Lee-Smith finished second out of 27 finishers in Sunday’s Titsey Trail 10km race organised by Oxted Runners, writes Alan Dolton.
He clocked 39 minutes, 31 seconds, and was backed up by clubmate Matthew Chapman in 13th (44:49).
Striders’ Suzy Yates was second woman and 29th overall in teh Dunsford 20-mile road race in 2:37.32. Clubmate Paul Stanford was 15th (2:28.05).
Rob Sharpe was third out of 93 finishers in Saturday’s Roundshaw Downs 5km parkrun, covering the muddy 5km course in 18:59.
The six Striders members who took part in the berlin Marathon were led home by Damian Macenhill (3:05.44).
Other Striders finishers: Claire Moore 3:23.39, Serena Stracey 3:49.40, Alan Purchase 3:49.40, Phil Mazur 4:01.48, Jean-Pierre Lamarque 5:12.04.
Striders compete in the first round of this season’s Surrey Cross Country Leagues on Saturday. The women’s Division One match is in Richmond Park (noon), with the men’s Division Two fixture on their home Lloyd Park course (3pm).
