Fifty swimmers at Kingston Royals Swimming Club will be put through their paces by GB’s ex-National Performance Director, Bill Sweetenham.
The swimmers, aged 10 to 17 years old, will participate in sessions with Bill who is widely regarded as one of the key influences in the success of British swimming in recent years.
Among other achievements, he led the 2008 team in Beijing where Rebecca Adlington won two gold medals, the first for a British woman in nearly 50 years.
Bill will be at the Kingfisher Pool, Kingston, from 5.15am to 7am on October 12 and from 7.30pm to 9pm the next day. 0515 - 0700 on the 12th October and from 1930 – 2100 on 13th October.
The visit has been arranged by KRSC swimming coach, Di Hargreaves, who knows Bill from her time as a GB coach.
Club chairman Richard Robbins said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Bill to KRSC. It is a fantastic opportunity and privilege for our swimmers to have exposure to arguably one of the best coaches in the world. I am sure they will remember it for a long time to come.”
