Fifty swimmers at Kingston Royals Swimming Club will be put through their paces by GB’s ex-National Performance Director, Bill Sweetenham.

The swimmers, aged 10 to 17, will participate in sessions with Great Britain’s former national performance director, one of the key influences in British swimming in recent years.

Among other achievements, he led the 2008 team in Beijing where Rebecca Adlington won two gold medals, the first for a British woman in nearly 50 years.

Bill will be at the Kingfisher Pool, Kingston, from 5.15am to 7am on October 12 and from 7.30pm to 9pm the next day.

The visit has been arranged by KRSC swimming coach, Di Hargreaves, who knows Bill from her time as a GB coach.

Club chairman Richard Robbins said: “We are absolutely delighted to welcome Bill to KRSC. It is a fantastic opportunity and privilege for our swimmers to have exposure to arguably one of the best coaches in the world. I am sure they will remember it for a long time to come.”
