Croydon Rifle Club's Kenny Parr won silver at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi today.
The 22-year-old from Thornton Heath was partnered by James Huckle in the men's 10m air rifle event, finishing 19 points behind gold-medal winners Abhinav Bindra and Gagan Narang from India.
Civil servant Parr is coached by his dad, Ken Parr Senior, who himself won Commonwealth medals at the games in 1998.
Sanderstead's Anna Smith has progressed well so far in the tennis tournaments.
Seeded seventh in the women's singles event, she beat Sri Lankan Muttiah Amritha 6-0 6-0 today to set up a match against either Stacey Roheman or Sohinee Ghosh in the second round.
That followed up her opening mixed doubles victory alongside Ross Hutchins on Monday, when the pair beat Bermudans Tara Lambert and David Thomas 6-1 6-2.
The fourth seeds will play Ghosh and her partner Kamil Patel in the quarter-finals.
Smith is also playing in the women's doubles alongside Sarah Borwell.
The pair are second seeds and were given a bye to the quarter finals.
