Richmond IBC had a mixed weekend of cup matches, recording a Denny Cup victory over Cambridge Park but slipping to an Egham Trophy defeat by Croydon.
Both matches saw two rinks played home and away.
Against Cambridge Park, Bob Rink’s away rink won 32-12 and the other rink lost just 23-19 to give Richmond a big advantage.
Of the home rinks, Phil Gregory (skip) got off to a storming start but half way through the game dropped 11 shots in two ends it finished in a very close game to lose out to P.Petch (skip) 17-19 .
The other rink at home lost by only four shots, to claim a victory by 18 shots overall 87-69 to go through to the next round on November 6..
On Sunday, both away rinks lost at Croydon and, although Iris Collins, May Nevin, Peter Hickman and Brian Lawton held on to win by 17-16 at home, Croydon go through to the next round.
