Banstead Downs Golf Club’s Ross McGowan hit back-to-back three under par rounds at the Abu Dhabi Golf Championships over the weekend to finish tied in 31st.
The 28-year-old narrowly made Friday’s cut - his third in succession - to finish strongly on six under to go into next week’s Commercialbank Qatar Masters in solid, if unspecatcular form.
Weybridge’s former Hampton School student Paul Casey hit a third round hole-in-one at the 12th to help him finish the weekend in tied-18th on eight under.
Cheam-based Ross Fisher matched fellow borough resident McGowan’s efforts to finish alongside him on six under as the pair claimed £13,500 in prize-money.
