Wisley PGA professional Ron Commans will aim to fly the flag for the United States when he tees up in the Senior PGA Professional Championship at Northants County from May 11-13.
Commans is the only American in the 144-strong field which will compete for a £33,000 prize fund over 54-holes.
But the former European Tour player faces stiff competition with a host of fellow PGA South Region players also teeing up including Dusan Gavrilovic (Studley Wood), Andrew Martin (Sand Martins), John Hoskison and Nicholas Mitchell, both of Newbury Golf Centre, Paul Milton (Surbiton) and Simon Wood (Hythe Imperial).
However Commans admits that the event is high on his list of priorities with the top 20 winning a place in the De Vere Club PGA Seniors Championship at Slaley Hall and the winner an invite to the Scottish Seniors Open.
Defending champion at Northants County will be local favourite Bob Larratt from Kibworth who became only the second player to win the title more than once.
