Epsom’s Natasha Davies helped Great Britain take the bronze medal at the inaugural U25s World Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Canada.
Davies, who was in the winning squad for the Paralympic World Cup but failed to get a game, made her international debut in Canada and helped restrict the home nation’s scoring opportunities in the play off for third place.
She was part of a squad who played against America, Australia, Mexico and Germany before the win against Canada.
In the group games, the side lost to eventual winners America and runners-up Australia, but progressed to the knockout rounds with a fine win against Mexico.
A tough pairing with European heavyweights Germany brought a fine win for the GB team, but they were unable to defeat America in the semi final.
Head coach Jen Browning, said: “I am understandably very proud of the team, it has been a remarkable improvement over the last 12 months from all the players and bringing home a bronze medal is testament to this.”
Davies is now looking to the European Championships in Israel in September.
