The Crystal Palace National Sports Centre has seen the return of top level water polo after a 21-year hiatus.
The centre hosted the British Water Polo League’s Super 5’s tournament over the weekend of November 26 and 27 in which teams from as far afield as Scotland played 13 exciting matches.
Lancaster continue to top the Super 5’s table after wins over West London Penguin and fierce rivals Manchester.
The return of water polo to Crystal Palace was a big hit according to Rotherham Metro’s coach, Norman Leighton, who hopes that it won’t be another 21 years before they return.
He said: “It is great that the British Water Polo League has returned to Crystal Palace. It is a great venue with excellent facilities.
“I hope Crystal Palace now becomes a regular feature in the future as a national league venue".
