London Welsh maintained their superb away form by beating Coventry 27-20 in National League Division One at the Butts Park Arena on Saturday thanks to Sam Ulph contributing 17 points, writes Vicky Cheevers.
They are hoping to repeat this success at home to Exeter this Saturday (3pm) when James Storey completes his three-week suspension for being sent off for a dangerous tackle against Waterloo on September 23.
Welsh led 14-10 at the interval at Coventry thanks to two fine tries from Robbie Shaw and Ulph, who each beat three defenders, with Ulph converting on each occasion.
Coventry replied just before half-time with a try by George Dixon, converted by Russell.
The visitors then took an 20-14 advantage, Russell landing another penalty and converting a try by Louis Tonkin.
But Ulph kicked two penalties to bring the scores level and Duncan Hayward added a try, which Ulph converted.
