Unlucky Twickenham are still looking for their first win of the season after going down 28-19 away on Saturday to a Tring side that has not lost this year.
They were dealt a blow when Leon John, who had grabbed a try within five minutes, had to retire injured at the interval, with Twickenham leading 14-8 following an exchange of penalties. After conceding a penalty early in the second-half, Twickenham took control with a superb solo try by Tom Howden.
Tring gradually came back into the game and were just one point behind when Twickenham full-back Chris Hay was erroneously yellow carded for the misdemeanour of another player.
Tring cashed in by scoring two tries to clinch victory.
A battling Twickenham side was desperately unlucky to lose this match, with flanker Micky Dever causing all sorts of problems for Tring and hooker Chris Tytherliegh taking three strikes against the head.
Twickenham: Nicholson, Tytherliegh, Moses, Wakefield, Ware, Dever, Freeman, I'anson, Wadden, Astbury, John (Mourad, 40mins), Rendl, Howden, Whitham, Hay.
