Old Wimbledonians produced some of their best rugby of the season in Saturday's 29-17 victory over Guernsey.
OWs took some time to settle and trailed 12-0 after half an hour although skipper Jones pulled three points back with a penalty before half-time.
However, the second half was a different story with the OWs scoring four tries and Jones adding three handsome conversions. Their forwards started pushing the Guernsey pack back many yards at most scrummages and good lineout work from Russell and Bell was well supported by a foraging back row effort with Heaver outstanding.
The backs tightened up their defence and created and took their chances in attack following some astute kicking ahead by Nangle and incisive half-breaks from Casey and Brian Boundy. Excellent interpassing brought Ray two left wing tries and further ghosting runs brought tries to the veteran Nangle and new boy Robertson. The only serious mishap in the second half allowed Guernsey in for a consolation try.
A good all round performance brought OWs up to seventh place in their league.
