New Malden's Tom Onslow-Cole signed off his title-winning ELF Renault Clio Cup campaign with a lights-to-flag victory in the final round at Silverstone on Sunday, writes Simon Murphy.
It was the 19-year-old's 10th win of the series, and saw him finish 123 points clear of his nearest rival, Banstead's Paul Rivett.
In typical fashion, the final Clio Cup race was incident-packed from the start.
Martin Byford was hot on Onslow-Cole's heels for much of the race but never got close enough to launch an overtaking attempt.
The race was similar to round 19 the previous day, which proved a three-way battle between Byford, Onslow-Cole and his Total Control Racing team-mate Nick Adcock.
This trio were covered by less than a second as the race entered its closing stages but Onslow-Cole showed his maturity to clinch another victory.
He said afterwards: "Two wins is a fantastic way to end the season and proves how dominant we have been.
"It's been a team effort and I can't thank Total Control Racing enough.
"I didn't feel the pressure out there, even though Martin was close at the end, and did what I needed for the win."
Onslow-Cole is now hoping to secure seat in the British Touring Car Championship.
"That is my goal but it is just a question of whether I can raise the budget," he said.
"The season couldn't have gone any better for me.
"Now I want to take my career on and show what I can do at the highest level."
