South Western Road Club cyclist Andy Hicks claimed the prestigious South East England White Jersey title after racking up nearly 10,000 miles on the road this year.
The 62-year-old pedalled to seven top three finishes - including four wins - in the 11 race series for the Chessington-based team.
The Kingswood resident also finished second in the National Percy Stallard Series for the 60-65 age group with two wins in the 10-race competition.
With each race close to 50 miles Hicks has spent nearly 1,000 competitive miles in the saddle, while his training regime amounts to almost 10 times that distance in 12 months.
Hicks said: "All my training and preparation finally paid off.
"It is great to win such a prestigious series in the South East, as well as finishing second at national level against some of the best riders in the country."
