London Welsh assistant coach Gordon Ross believes his side’s Premiership struggles are the polar opposite to what he sees on the training pitch.
The exiles, who travel to Wasps tomorrow, missed a golden opportunity to secure a first win of the season as they crashed 18-9 at home in the LV=Cup against Gloucester on Sunday.
But Ross insisted a bit of luck allied to their hard work would help them break their duck.
“If an outsider came and watched us train in the week they wouldn’t believe where we are because our accuracy of execution is very good, but we’re not putting that on the pitch,” he said.
“That’s very frustrating for the players and the management, but they are still going out on that training pitch every day and working their backsides off.
“We need to have that work ethic, we need a couple of lucky bounces of the ball and we need to improve to get results.”
