Rosslyn Park head into a crunch match this weekend with head coach Alex Codling calling on fans to the 16th man.
National League One leaders Ealing Trailfinders are the visitors to the Rock on Saturday (kick off 3pm), and any sort of win would lift Park to the summit for the first time this season.
Codling’s men go into the encounter in perfect form on the back of 11 games unbeaten, including last weekend’s 47-0 win at Tynedale.
The former England international said: “There is a real buzz around the group about this game and it has all the makings of a Christmas cracker.
“The Park supporters have been magnificent so far this season and it would be great for them to be hugely vocal and be the 16th man this Saturday, in what is an enormous challenge for the boys.”
Rosslyn Park: Brothers prepare to face off in top of table clash
There was both good and bad news for Codling in the Tynedale match. Full-back Nev Edwards limped off at the beginning of the second half, and is a doubt, while his replacement from the bench was fly half Scott Sneddon, making a welcome return after missing several matches with a nagging leg injury.
There are some interesting sub-plots in the match, which pitches flanker Sam Shires and centre Kiba Richards in against their former club.
But none is more interesting than the fraternal back-row duel in which Park’s Hugo Ellis faces his brother, Arthur.
Park are anticipating a bumper crowd, and ask people not to arrive at the last minute as there is only limited turnstile capacity. There will be additional temporary catering facilities.
