Justin Burnell as urged his London Welsh side to show greater patience if they are to end their wait for a first win of the season.
The exiles went down 24-6 to Edinburgh Rugby in part two of their European Rugby Challenge Cup double-header at the Kassam stadium on Sunday, having trailed by just six at the break only to be out-muscled in the second half.
Welsh were left to rue not taking their first half chances and not capitalising on the sinbinning of Edinburgh centre Andries Strauss.
“It’s about patience. You’ve got to make the most of the possession you get,” said Burnell.
“That’s something we’re working constantly towards, having that ability to maintain pressure and keep hold of that ball.
“In the first half we were in their 22, the green zone, but just forced the ball instead of having that little bit more patience.
“When they got in our 22 they just seemed to have that bit more patience, kept hold of the ball and went for the penalties.”
