Esher U16s coach Gary Douch takes centre stage on ITV London news this week after being nominated for a Pride Of Britain award.
Douch, a director a Charterbuild Construction, is the founder and chairman of Bowel Disease UK, which he started from his hospital bed in 2006 and became official in 2007.
The charity is bidding to find a cure for Crohn’s Disease, ulcerative colitis and bowel cancer and Douch has recently comfirmed a £200,000 commitment to the Artesunate research study at St George’s Hospital.
Douch’s story will feature on the television show tonight.
Meanwhile, Esher secured their first National Division One win since the opening day of the season thanks to a 34-14 triumph over Coventry at Molesey Road.
Tries from Tom James, Peter Synnott, Tom Cheeseman and Joe Brown – plus 11 points from fly half James Lang – did the damage.
