Rosslyn Park coach Chris Kibble has warned his side they face being pulled into a relegation dogfight unless they shed their tag of nearly men'.

Park produced another dogged display in Saturday's 26-20 bonus-point defeat at Ealing.

But Kibble was not overly impressed by the fare provided by his National League Three South side.

"We have had a number of close runs recently," he said.

"We do not want to get sucked into the relegation zone and this is a really big period for us.

"I would say that three out of the next four games are must-win encounters.

"If you get pulled into the bottom everybody gets nervous and players go into their shells."

Despite his frustration, Kibble admitted there were plenty of positives.

He added: "I thought our scramble defence was excellent and players put their bodies on the line.

"To be honest, they could have been out of sight at half-time but we hung in there.

"I was encouraged by the character shown."

Lydney visit Priory Lane on Saturday and an injury-hit Park will have their hands full with a side sitting directly above them in the league.

Kibble added: "We just need to get more consistency in our play.

"We are suffering with injuries but I do not want that to be used as an excuse.

"We play well in patches but we need to switch from being a good 30 to 40-minute team into a one that competes every minute of every match."
