Neil Robson, Warlingham's rampaging No8 forward, claimed four of his side's tries as the London South-West Four table-toppers ran in nine in a 63-0 win against lowly Farnham at Hamsey Green last Saturday.
"I've scored three tries in a game before, but never four," said Robson, a financial adviser from Kenley.
The latest win takes Warlingham within four games of promotion to London SW3, the club's second step up in three seasons, to what would be its highest status in eight years.
Robson, who has played for the first XV since he was 17, reckons the latest injection of young blood has done much to help Warlingham to play the enterprising rugby that has put them top of their division.
"There were times on Saturday when I was the oldest on the pitch, and at 27 I don't think I am that old," Robson said. "But our team's average age is only 22, and this season we have allowed the younger players to dictate the way we play for the first time - their enthusiasm and ambition has been a breath of fresh air."
Jon Osborne, the home side's flying winger, opened the scoring after five minutes with a fine break down the wing. This was followed in quick succession by two tries by Robson.
Robson's first came from good support by the pack, seeing the Warlingham forwards go through five phases of play to move all the way up the pitch, while the second saw the big man go on a long-range solo effort from the Warlingham half.
Centre Charles Currey, in only his secong game for the Crest Nicholson-sponsored club, got his first try in Warlingham colours after some fine play by the backs saw him crash over to score.
With Mark Kozminski kicking all his conversions, Warlingham went in at half-time 28 points up, and feeling they might have had more if it had not been for some over-anxious play within sight of the Farnham try line.
Farnham have gone all season without a win, and their confidence ebbed further in the second period as the youthful Warlingham side's superior fitness began to tell, particularly in the forward battles.
Ky Oliveria was commanding in the lineout and loose play, as was Dan Street, who was named Crest Nicholson Man of the Match for his overall performance.
Alongside fellow back-row forwards Sam Salter and Robson, Dan Street made major inroads into the Farnham defence, and it was barely surprising that the No8 opened the second-half scoring, Robson in place to go over the line after some superb running by Alex Glover.
Now Warlingham started almost to take it in turns to share the try-scoring. Dave Stamp took advantage of the space in midfield to jink his way through to the tryline at high speed, while next it was prop Alex Nunn barging his way through to get on the score sheet.
With the scoreboard showing 49-0, Farnham at last put some pressure on the Warlingham line. Good defensive play and an element of luck saw Robson break off the back of a scrum and run 75 metres to score his fourth try.
"I suppose that was my favourite try of the day - it's not often a forward gets to run the length of the field and show his sidestep to beat the opposition's back-three," Robson laughed.
The scoring was completed just before the fiinal whistle with replacement prop James Delderfield going over the line.
Warlingham are without a league fixture this weekend, their next game a potentially tricky visit to fifth-placed Weybridge on March 1.
In the club's other matches, the under-17s Academy squad beat London Welsh 20-17.
