Barnes went down to a 26-14 defeat at Henley on Saturday.
Barnes took an early lead after full-back Warren Gower touched down and then converted his try, but Henley went on to dominate for long periods.
Barnes started confidently and got round the defence with fullback Warren Gower running down the touchline to come and score at the posts on 12 minutes. He converted his try.
In the second quarter Henley improved and pressure led to a try for centre Neil Baggett also at the posts on the half hour. Paul Trendell converted.
Just before halftime a breakaway try touched down by lock Alan Blewitt gave the home team the lead. Trendell converted.
Just after halftime Barnes’ scrum half Ross Blake toed a perfect chip over the defence that floated into his fly half Gareth Williams-Davies’ hands and he touched down at the posts.
Gower converted to make it 14 all. At the end of the third quarter lock Tom Stradwick scored a try for Henley against the run of play from a quick throw-in; Trendell converted.
Before the final whistle Henley consolidated with an unconverted try wide out after stealing a Barnes’ line-out.
