A makeshift Kingston side suffered defeat at the hands of in-form Ellingham & Ringwood on Saturday, going down 21-12.
Kingston rarely looked like they were going to be victorious in this game, particularly as they had been hampered by an injury to their centre in the warm up, coupled with the other absentees which lead to some players being played out of position.
Although for large parts of the game, Kingston's defence remained sound, it was two defensive errors within the 1st half that ultimately cost Kingston the game. E&R gained two tries from these errors , adding to their early 1st minute penalty.
Kingston kept E&R at arms reach after fly half Leo Fedorico converted two penalties, yet when it at half time 6-15 down.
The 2nd half saw a more determined Kingston, as they retained much of the possession yet failed to convert their dominance into tries, often falling short of touching down.
Despite two successfully converted penalties by Kingston's Fedorico they were still playing the chasing game, as soon as Kingston added these penalties, E&R responded in a quick fashion with two penalties of their own to maintain a relatively healthy lead, and close out the game.
