Twickenham Colts beat Ashford 14-7 in an deserved victory in the National Cup.
The game started at a frantic pace, with both sets of teams looking to gain the upper hand with their forwards moving the ball quickly.
There was nothing between the two teams until The Colts worked a great move down the wing, allowing Dan Rose to outpace the opposition to score near the posts.
This enhanced the confidence within the team, and their pressure soon told when Ben Beardon added a try, The Colts went into half time 14-0 up after they slotted the resulting conversion.
The second half saw a more rejuvenated Ashford team, as their tactics of using rolling subs began to pressurise The Colts. After heightened pressure from Ashford through set pieces and penalties, they eventually scored with a try under the posts.
