Old Glynonians strengthened their position at the top of Surrey Four by winning 32-10 at Lightwater on Saturday, writes Chris Justham.
Heavy snowfall over the past fortnight made the pitch boggy, but Glynonians still looked to play a running game.
Strong work under the high ball by the back three of James Murray, Mark Godwin and man-of-the-match Genair Otoo allowed the men in white to punish Lightwater for kicking away possession.
A number of marauding runs by the back row and centres, in particular number eigh Sam Drew, allowed fly-half Liam Burns to direct play.
OGs ran in six tries, including a hat-trick from Ben Rollinson.
Skipper Richard Holmden said: "A win is a win, and this has strengthened our position at the top of the table.
“However, elements of our performance today weren’t up to standard and I challenge the team to raise the bar.”
OGs visit Egham this Saturday and Holmden added: “I want the team to make a statemtent to the rest of the league.”
