Grasshoppers ran out 22-5 in a friendly at Weybridge Vandals at Saturday.
Veteran Peter Dymott stood in as captain of a side that also saw debuts for new boys Micky Freeman at second-row and Danny Hutchins at scrum-half.
Grasshoppers scored an early try when Freeman fed winger Matt Orishaguna, who went in for an unconverted try, but Vandals quickly cancelled this out with a try of their own.
The visitors then took control when wing Tom Woodhouse scored a try, converted by Hutchins, to give Grasshoppers a 12-5 half-time lead.
Although Vandals put Grasshoppers under lots of pressure after the break, some decisive counter-attacking saw uncoverted tries from Will Cuzack and Matt Orishaguna.
Grasshoppers visit league leaders Tabard this Saturday (2.30pm).
