Florent Rossigneaux has warned his Rosslyn Park side to be on their guard when they host mid-table Dings Crusaders this weekend.

Despite last weekend’s clash at Canterbury falling foul of the weather, Park did not lose any ground in the National League Two South title race after Ealing slipped to a surprise defeat at Shelford.

And, having seen his side held to a 21-21 draw at Dings earlier this campaign, Rossigneaux is anxious to avoid any repeat.

He said: “Dings gave us some real difficulties earlier this season so there is no way we will take them lightly.

“This game is a real banana skin for us and we have to make sure we do not slip up.

“They are a passionate side and very strong physically and we have to match up to the challenge..

“We have to approach the game in the right way and if we do so we should come through OK.”

A frozen pitch accounted for the Canterbury postponement at the weekend.

And Rossigneaux revealed the Kent side had been eager to call off the game at the earliest possible opportunity.

He added: “They contacted us a few days before saying they wanted to call off the game but we asked them to leave it until the latest possible time.

“We have been playing extremely well in the last two or three games and I wanted to keep that run going, so it is very frustrating that we had to take the week off.

“I know people will say the players will be fresh but I would much rather have the players in a nice rhythm rather than stop-start like the last couple of months have been.

“But matters are still in our own hands and that really is all you can ask for at this stage of a season.”
