Three Richmond schools came together for a girls’ coaching festival and competition at Teddington RFC last week.
Waldegrave, Orleans Park and Grey Court schools have been participating in the RFUW's Richmond Schools' Legacy Project since January.
Since the beginning of the year they have received coaching in their schools from England players Amy Turner and Alice Richardson.
At Teddington RFC all of the girls received coaching in full contact rugby from Amy and Alice as well as England's Maggie Alphonsi and Richmond coach Ron Mushiso before competing in a tag tournament to determine the overall winner.
Orleans Park emerged as unbeaten champions on the day, and were rewarded with medals and a ball signed by the three England stars.
The Richmond Schools project is the first London based legacy project in the 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup year.
More than 150 Year 8 girls have received coaching as part of this project, with 48 selected to represent their schools at Teddington RFC.
The 2010 Women's Rugby World Cup kicks off on August 20 at Surrey Sports Park, with the semi finals and finals being held at the Harlequins' Stoop in September.
