Twickenham won 17-10 at bottom side Winchester to record their first away win of the season on Saturday.
Twickenham started strongly but it took then 25 minutes to open the scoring when rookie number eight Seb Johansson off-loaded for Joe Ash to crash through and score. Jamie See converted.
Winchester seized on a questionable penalty late in the first half to score a pushover try, but Twickenham responded immediately when winger Rupert Freeman broke the defensive line and, after a nice link-up with the back row, looped round to take the final pass and score.
Twickenham stretched their lead early in the second half when centre Ash broke the line and young full-bacl Michael Buck came through for winger Matthew Wadden to run 20m to the line.
That gave Twickenham a 17-5 lead but Winchester, denied any kind of running game, got their second try from a 15m rolling maul.
Twickenham had the best of the chances late on, but had to settle for a seven-point winning margin.
