Ollie Lyndsay-Hague admits the experience he has gained at Rosslyn Park this season will be priceless as he looks to further his career in professional rugby.

The Harlequins winger, on loan at Park for the season, this week flew out to Sydney having been named in England’s Sevens squad for the World Cup legs in Adelaide and Hong Kong.

And the 19-year-old was keen to pay tribute to the coaching staff of Florent Rossigneaux and former Quin Stuart Abbott at Priory Lane.

Lyndsay-Hague said: “Playing at Rosslyn has been a major impact on my 15-man rugby.

“At this level it really is a man’s game and I have really improved on the physical side.

“I think people were a bit worried that I would be too weak but my defence and physicality has really come on from all the experience I have been getting.

“Florent can be a little hard to understand sometimes but people respect him, and having Stuart there as well is a big bonus.

“He is a really good coach and everyone listens to what he has to say because of his experience.

“I have learned an awful lot since I went there and it has really paid off form me.”

The winger was part of a Park side that kept up the pressure at the top of National League Two South with a 62-24 win over Bridgwater & Albion thanks to tries from Morgan Jones (two), Ross Laidlaw, Billy O’Driscoll, Howard Quigley, Rob Jewell and Jonny Barrett.

And Lyndsay-Hague reckons promotion is very much on the cards.

He added: “I think man for man we are better than any other team in this division.

“It is all down to hard work.

“We have a mix of youth and experience and with great coaching thrown in it is a nice blend.

“We have put ourselves in a great position and it is up to us to finish the job.

“I would be happy to come back here next season but I will need to sit down with my coaches and see what is best for my development.”
