Florent Rossigneaux reckons the try-scoring ability throughout his Rosslyn Park side could give them the edge as the National League Two South title race heats up.

Park remained in second spot, four points behind leaders Barking, after Saturday’s impressive 42-3 win at Shelford.

And with six different try-scorers on the scoresheet, Rossigneaux admits his side’s potency is cause for optimism.

He said: “The way we have been playing this season is all about creating that interaction between backs and forwards.

“We want the players to support and follow the ball.

“It is not a surprise to me to get a lot of different names on the scoresheet.

“That is a reflection of the quality of player that we have in the squad and a sign of the real hunger to get to the try line.”

Ross Laidlaw, Paul Unseld, Richard Davies, Marc Sweeney, James Strong and Howard Quigley grabbed the tries as park inflicted just Shelford’s second home defeat of the campaign.

And the French coach enthused about his side’s display.

Rossigneaux added: “It was our best performance away from home this season and one of the best overall.

“We were very clinical.

“We played some great rugby in the first 40 minutes and we maintained that tempo in the second half which was very pleasing.

“We knew it was going to be a game we could slip up in but we stripped them of their confidence and were worthy winners.”

Park get a Saturday off this weekend, but leaders Barking visit third-place Ealing in a game that will have a major impact on the title race.

And Rossigneaux admits he may even pop along to view that game for himself.

He added: “I am thinking about going as it is so important for us.

“If Ealing win it will keep a real interest at the top of the table and would benefit us.

“But we just need to concentrate on winning our own games and we will be fine.”
