Grasshoppers saw visitors Hampstead gain revenge for a 31-18 home defeat in October by leaving Macfarlane Lane as 19-11 winners on Saturday.
Grasshoppers scored first with Stuart Daniels’ penalty. Then stand-off Daniels made a brilliant break and fed flanker Olly Grindod for an unconverted try.
Hampstead got on the board just before half-time with two penalties in quick succession, but Grasshoppers turned around 8-6 ahead.
Although Daniels kicked another penalty, Hampstead’s back row started to take control and they scored two tries and a penalty to clinch victory.
Grasshoppers visit Chiswick on Saturday (2.30pm).
