Grasshoppers went down 18-11 at Imperial Medicals last Saturday Medics broke the deadlock within 5 minutes when they drove over for an unconverted try from the lineout.
G’s then shadowed Medics for the next 35 minutes and secured a penalty, try and conversion to take the lead 5-11. Medics though secured a second try on 48 minutes to make the half time score a nail biting 10-11.
G’s continued to press in the second half spurred on by their superior forwards but failed to put the game beyond Medics reach due to some stiff Medics tackling and counter attacking. G’s then saw the game ebb away after 55 minutes with a Medics penalty and then on 70 minutes they increased their lead to 18-11.
G’s though, had many chances to come back and during the last play of the game stand off, Thomas Orishaguna, almost went over under the posts only to be thwarted by some last ditch Medics defence to make the final score 18-11.
Grasshoppers host Hampstead on Saturday (2.30pm).
