Florent Rossigneaux has earmarked this weekend’s derby clash with London Scottish as the perfect way for his Rosslyn Park side to announce theirselves on the National League One stage.

Park were jolted 34-17 at Blackheath at the weekend, giving them one win and one loss after the opening two rounds of league fixtures.

And Rossigneaux reckons a clash with Scottish is the ideal way to bounce back into form.

He said: “For Rosslyn Park it really does not get much bigger than a game with London Scottish.

“We have had a very strong relationship with them on the pitch over the past few years.

“The truth is though we have been second best for the majority of that time.

“Now we have the opportunity to show them that we have caught up with them in terms of our ability.

“It is the perfect game to look forward to and will hopefully allow us to take out our frustrations from last weekend.”

Park were rarely at the races at Blackheath, 14-0 down after five minutes and seeing a rally fall short.

Amo Tauialo scored two tries, but the French coach admitted his side had come off second best.

Rossigneaux added: “I think the game was in many ways a good indication of the level we have to aspire to week in, week out.

“You have to be on your game for every minute of every match and if you are not you suffer.

“You have to start games well and be extremely consistent - that is the reality of this league.

“It is a good lesson for us to learn early in the season and the key for us will be how we react to it.

“Now we know the level we have to aspire to and the challenge for us is to reach that standard.”

Rosslyn Park’s next three matches: Sep 18 London Scottish (h), 25 Barking (h), Oct 2 Redruth (a)
